How safe are swimming lesson post COVID - 19?

As we begin to welcome our swimmers back, Swimtime has made some changes, inline with guidance provided by the governing bodies and the government. From 25th July the UK Government has allowed swimming lessons to restart under strict conditions

Swimtime operates from hundreds of venues across the UK.

However, we are reliant on the individual venues to inform us when they are prepared for classes to go ahead. Details of how we will restart are here

As a result, there may be a delay in the return of classes at some venues - this is accurately reflected on our Lesson Finder - if a class is not on the Swimtime Lesson Finder, it is not currently running.

The Lesson Finder will be updated regularly and has live, 24/7 booking availability

How safe are pools?

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) - "There's no evidence that the coronavirus spreads through water in pools (or hot tubs, spas, or water play areas)"

Further information about pools safety can be found here from Swim England

What training have Teachers had?

Swimtime Swim Teachers have attended specific in house Covid 19 training to ensure they follow the new guidelines so you will notice some changes, and we ask that you support our teachers and comply with the new venue specific protocols.

What are the risks ?

A new Covid 19 Risk Assessment has been completed at each venue to identify control measures to over come potential hazards and minimise risk.  Anyone attending a venue should be vigilant and follow venue specific protocol.

Do we need to bring our own equipment?

It is not essential to bring your own equipment to the lesson.  At the end of each lesson, Teachers will be cleaning equipment in line with Swim England advice, making sure it is clean and ready for the next swimmer.

What about hygiene standards?

In line with guidance, pool operators have introduced frequent cleaning of key areas and have made available hand sanitiser at various points throughout the building.
